The protagonists of Las cinéphilas are retired women from Spain, Uruguay and Argentina. They go to the cinema every day. Like a drop from a leak, fiction is leaking in their lives and it leaves a track on their memory.

FOLLOW THE DIRECTOR
María Álvarez is an argentinean writer and director. She is currently directing her third film, Close (2021) which is the last part of her trilogy about art and ageing that started with her first film Las cinéphilas (2017), which premiered at several festivals in 20 different countries. The second part is Le temps perdu, to be released in 2020. She is now also developing her first fiction film, The influences.
